The Battle of Gettysburg took place in Gettsysburg, Pennsylvania. It was the turning point of the Civil War. The battle took place on the fields of the small Pennsylvania town. The picture to the left is a memorial that honors all of the men who died fighting for what they believed in.
The battle also claimed many lives. As you can see in the picture to the right, this was no easy thing to watch. Many people lost their sons, brothers, fathers, and husbands. This battle was one of the most if not the most bloody an gory battle ever. Whether you fought for the north or south, this was not an easy sight to see.
The Battle in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania was a viscous battle in which most of each team of soldiers assigned to fight that battle were killed or were never to be seen again. The picture on the left is another memorial to honor the fallen soldiers of the battle. The north did win but the south did fight hard and they are still honored even though their ideas and theories were cruel, unfair, and wrong. The north had the right and fair ideas about human rights and they fought to protect those rights and in the end, they prospered.
